ABOUT NIDRA

I believe in creating beautiful work for a wise and magical modern world. I’m inspired by themes of adventure, nature, imagination, and the experiences of children growing up between multiple cultures.

With expressive pencil lines and soft textures of watercolor and pastel, my work blends digital and traditional media, exploring magical realism and cross-cultural story-telling.

I love crafting expressive characters and immersive environments with a touch of nostalgia, creating work that resonates with young people in a playful, meaningful way. My visual language is enriched by my life abroad; my most memorable art adventures took place in Italy, where I studied plein air watercolor painting, and in India, where I studied sacred art and music.

Somewhere between the pomodoro and the masala, I received my art education at the University of Oregon, at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, and at Syracuse University, where I earned an M.F.A in Illustration. I am currently based between the United States and Asia.
