I believe in creating beautiful work for a wise and magical modern world. I’m inspired by themes of folklore, nature, imagination, history, and the experiences of children growing up as global citizens between multiple cultures.
Working in traditional and digital media, I love creating expressive characters and environments with a touch of enchantment and nostalgia. I'm drawn to stories that can engage with contemporary culture in a playful and meaningful way.
My visual language is enriched by my experiences living abroad. My most memorable art adventures have been in Italy, where I studied plein air watercolor painting, and in India where I studied classical and sacred art. Somewhere between the pomodoro and the masala, I received my art education at the University of Oregon, at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, and at Syracuse University, where I earned an M.F.A in Illustration.
